Job Summary: The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) reports to the Area Vice President with a primary responsibility of achieving quota for his/her designated area on a monthly and annual basis. The RSM will be subject matter expert for all Novastep products and will instil confidence in the surgeon and OR support team by their deep understanding of the foot & ankle procedures and proper use of our products in a variety patient/clinical scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review long- and short-term sales strategies.
- Develop new customers via prospecting and following up on Company generated leads.
- Develop field sales action plans to facilitate the implementation of the regional sales programs.
- Provide the necessary support to are vice presidents to enable them to generate market leads and close new deals
- Positively contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results.
- Recommend service and product enhancement to improve the sales potential and customer satisfaction
- Recommend new talent and ensures proper development and training.
- Attend surgery with new surgeon users; provide technical guidance on proper clinical use and technique for best possible outcome and an excellent customer experience. Complete case review summaries after every case.
- Fields and support sales representative technical questions.
- Assists with surgical protocols, techniques, tips & tricks.
- Develops positive, enduring relationships with our customers.
- Document customer interactions and maintain data related to activities, accounts and partners
- Develop and maintain channels between product developers and resellers
- Attend local, regional, and national trade shows and labs as requested.
- Works to obtain product approvals of local and regional ASCs, hospitals and IDNs.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with all key account personnel within their assigned areas in order to support selling, market development, service efforts, clinical events and business continuity.
- Updates management on industry trends, product advancements, & customer needs.
- Provides feedback to marketing on product design to improve performance and customer satisfaction
- Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of the company’s relationship with them
- Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies and establishing personal networks
Qualifications (Education, Skills, and Experience; Required):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree: Equivalent combination of education, training, experience, and certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience: 3-5 years of successful field sales experience with a surgical implant company (orthopedics experience preferred) OR Two 2 or more years as member of an Operating Room surgical team (RN or PA).
- Technical: Must thrive in the hospital and specifically Operating Room (OR) setting and be comfortable and confident instructing surgeons and OR teams during surgery with our products.
- Selling and Communication Skills: Excellent Communication and selling skills
